Me & Sam Layout

My eyes nearly popped when I saw these funky and bright So Cute! Collection & Paisley Road Collection Prima papers in my DT box from Tracy...WOW! GORGEOUS!!! I had the perfect photo for this too (taken by the wonderful Wendy – thx hun x) – one of Sam and I on holidays.
I used one whole sheet of Prima So Cute 'Hide and Seek' as my background paper (now, I don't usually use a patterned sheet as a background but I really REALLY didn't want to cut this one up – and it was perfect for what I had in mind. I used a piece of Prima Paisley Road 'Dandiya' for the matting behind the photo (yep, these papers are a double-sided BONUS!!) with a bit of machine stitching and inking around the edge. I popped some loose pink rhinestones on the clouds and used thickers "Rockabye" for the title.
This embellie cluster was made using some of our M2A stick on bling hearts, a lovely printed felt heart, and I adhered some of our awesome pins onto some M2A mulberry flowers (after I lightly inked the edges of the pins). The teddy bear was hand cut from a piece of Prima So Cute 'So Cute'.

Through the Looking Glass

Through the Looking Glass

Hi Everyone! I have to tell you it is soooo nice to be back on my feet and scrapping again! This month Tracy sent me a pack of the gorgeous Websters Petite Pages, which are 6x6 pages from the Spring Market, Yacht Club and Country Estate ranges....awesome value as you receive 36 mini pages in the pack...and they were just what I needed to inspire me to make this whimsical layout of my daughter Ashlee.
I started off with black cardstock that I messy machine straight stitched several times around the edge. I used zig zag stitch to attach 3 of the 6 inch pages diagonally across the page – I used the entire sheets and didn't cut them down. I placed my photo on then I 'stretched' a black felt scroll frame to fit it.
How did I do this? EASY!...I cut a black felt scroll frame in half diagonally. I placed one piece on the top right hand corner, and the other on the left bottom hand corner. I hid the gaps on each side of the frame with our wonderful paper stemmed star flowers et voila!!! The frame 'grew' bigger. I added one of our timepieces there too, as every Looking Glass page needs a pocket watch! AND yes, I did add Diamond Dust onto the stemmed flowers...and yes, I am a *little* addicted to it...
The leaves are our new Scrapware ones – a mix of large foliage and small foliage. I inked them in a light green ink first, and embossed them with distress embossing powder (peeled paint)...I just love the olive green colour they turned out! I added a few little charms here and there, and one of our fabulous engraved felt hearts that are our FREE GIFT this month. I couldn't resist the new Scrapware iron gates either so I inked some black and popped those on too – complete with a little lock charm to keep the secret gates closed!
The title is done using Websters Wonderfall alphabet stickers (just to keep the Websters theme going LOL)...and here's a sticker tip...don't be afraid to mix n match your stickers if you don't have enough of the one colour to finish your title. Sometimes it adds just a little interest and depth.

Prima-licious

Hello poor little neglected blog! I FINALLY have made something to blog - jeez Mr Mojo has been very unkind to me recently!! I joined a facebook page called Scrap It With Attitude and we had a challenge put out to us to scrap a page or off the page item using your favourite brand - with at least 50% of the creation to be made using that brand, and post it on the challenge page with some general info about the brand. This was just what I needed to finally kick start the old mojo - something with a few rules to guide, but enough leeway for creativity.....and I chose PRIMA MARKETING inc to be the brand (yeah baby!!!)

It's easier to say what isn't Prima than what is!!! The bazzill backing cardstock, the Rusty Pickle title, the Carolee's creations Adorn It lettering for the journalling and that's it! The rest is Prima - the paper is Prima Fairy Flora Garden Party...Prima flowers, a prima say it with pearls swirl, prima lace,  a prima journalling card...

To get this effect I first cut out a large mat for the photo, then trimmed around the flowers and stems around the top 2/3rds of the mat. I used my fingers to curl the stems and flowers up from the page and added the Prima rosebuds over the top of the stems.
a close up of the lovely prima flowers....

Gosh I love Prima...and what a fun challenge!!! If you would like to join this group on Facebook, send me a friend request HERE and I will send you an invite...Hugs for now!!!

...a sketch challenge... a little late.... *sigh*

Forgive me bloggers for I have sinned - it's been a month since my last blog... I think I need to say 3 Martha Stewarts and 10 Tim Holtzes for that! Now I have catchups to do...

I have a M2A sketch challenge to share (from October- ohhh I soooo BAAAD) from the wonderful Melinda Spinks ...

Here is the sketch...

And here is my take on it...

Watch me JUMP... This is my little guy having a go at a big trampoline at Kalbarri...he kept yelling out “watch me watch me” so we watched and I clicked!!

The background is a piece of Rose Moka Equinoxe Reconfort paper, with a piece of October Afternoon Egg Basket at the contrast paper. I lightly inked the edge of this contrast paper as it is so bright, just to cool it down a bit. I added some Buzz and Bloom black corduroy clouds (damn they so hard to get now!!!) and I used some great thickers Jewelry Box black stickers and Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alpha stickers to create the title. The journalling was some chipboard inked black and I used a silver gel pen.
The tree was hand cut using 3 different papers, and I used foam tape to 3-d the trunk, and a combination of foam tape and glue to make the leaves curl up and pop up from the page.

Materials Used:
Papers: Rose Moka Equinoxe Reconfort, October Afternoon Cherry Hill Egg Basket, Websters Life Portrait Reflections (the reverse side), Jenni Bowlin Extension Black Micro Dot, Fancy Pants Like Father Like Son Big Guy.
Letter Stickers: AC Chipboard Thickers Jewelry Box Black, Jenni Bowlin Tiny Circle Alpha stickers Vintage
Embellishments: Buzz and Bloom black corduroy clouds, chipboard
Product used: black ink.

Okay... so that is catchup number 1.... I still have another layout for M2A, some DT projects for Inspired Crafts and the 12 Christmas cards in 12 days I recently completed for M2A to kick off Christmas projects to blog...as well as a few random bits....
Stay well and thanks for stopping past to look at my really quick post!

Wiped Out...

My youngest is just starting to get confident in the ocean and loves to jump the waves at the beach...this time, the waves jumped him LOL...We are really beach loving people so this months theme at My 2 Angels really isn't a challenge at all!!!
For this layout, I took a piece of  kraft cardstock and lightly misted it with glimmermist. I added a Bo Bunny Mama-razzi Panoramic die cut, trimmed the middle a bit and adhered it to the misted background, placed my photos, smeared crystalina kindyglitz along the bottom third of the page then sprinkled diamond dust all over to give a sandy feel. I added a torn and scrunched onion/fruit mesh bag (recycled scrapping at it's finest!!) and added dobs of glue and more diamond dust. I placed some cute fish, turtle and a shell shaped follow your heart charm in the mesh and attached using silver jump rings.

The title was done using letter stickers that were inked lightly, adhered, outlined with pen then highlighted with kindyglitz and diamond dust. The arrow has been inked then coated with black embossing powder and shiny embossed.

The journalling block is the fabulous little imaginisce To Love and Cherish Snag'em stamp frame (and at $1.99 it was an absolute BARGAIN!!!!) - stamped onto a random piece of scrap chipboard then lightly rubbed over with ink to 'dirty' it up a bit.
To make the circle frame and star embellishment, I cut out a circle frame and a star from chipboard (or you could die cut one if you have sizzix/cuttlebug). I coated the circle frame in some ink then used Ranger embossing puffs embossing powder (black). Sooo coool..it gave a fuzzy flocked effect. I inked the tips of the star and dipped it into some white embossing puffs, then added some - yep you guessed it - kindyglitz and diamond dust for added texture. The silver circle frame charm has a cute little 'youthful' word from the bottom of a set of Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alpha stickers, and has also been given the kindyglitz/diamond dust treatment.

Materials used:
Titles and Journalling - Making Memories Paperie Letter stickers (poolside), Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type Letter stickers, Imaginisce To Love and Cherish Snag'em Stamps - clear frame.
Embellishments- Follow your heart charm, fish charms, turtle charm, silver circle frame charm, silver jump rings, onion/fruit bag, chipboard arrow, black rhinestone swirl (you could make this yourself EASILY by using pva and our loose black rhinestones), black organza ribbon.
Product - glimmer mist (yellow daisy, moonlight from the Winter Wishes kit), Twinklets diamond dust, crystallina kindyglitz, Ranger embossing puffs (black, white), Zing black embossing powder.

Hope you like the pics of my half drowned son LOL!

Adore My Little Cougar

And here is the fourth of this month's My 2 Angels DT shares...This photo was taken of my son at Auskick...he looked so serious and tough and BIG in his little footy guernsey. I really loved the classic old fashioned footy photo feel of this picture, so I kept the papers toned right down to suit.

I used a mix of different papers, with the backing paper being a piece of Bo Bunny Mama-razzi Aperature, the numbered paper is a piece of Sass Lass Apple Jack Translate, some dotty Jenni Bowlin Extension Black Micro Dot, and some Like Father Like Son Big Guy (both sides).

I stamped an Imaginisce To Love & Cherish Snag'em journalling box stamp onto some Tim Holtz Grungeboard and used some of the cute little Jenni Bowlin TIny Circle Alphas to journal with. The title is Holly Doodle Alphabet stickers - cubicle that I rubbed with black ink, stuck down then coated with dimensional magic. I finished off with a large pearl head pin with some ribbon snippets tied around it and a pair of footy boot charms on a charm ring.

He Loves making a Splash!!

And here is another My 2 Angels DT share...said a I had a few LOL...I found this photo in my ever growing mountain of 'to scrap' pics...it was one that Wendy had taken when the kids were mucking around in our pool in Jan 2008, and when my little son was 4 and still swam with floaties on. He looked so cute and so happy being able to float around the pool under his own steam.

For this layout I used mainly coredinations cardstock, with a hint of the orange side of a piece of Adorn It Carolees Creations Rev Em Up Fast Ride A.

I painted some cute little scrapware sail boats with acrylic paints, and gave them a little spray with the clear glacier mist from the glimmermist winter wishes kit. While they were drying, I used the leftover board from the sail boat set as a stencil and misted two boats onto the white cardstock using Moonlight glimmermist. I placed the painted boat shapes just off to the side of the stencilled ones to give a glimmermist shadow effect. I added a cute little bird charm as it reminded me of a seagull. The ruffled ribbon is a navy blue organza ribbon that I gathered using a machine stitch and zigzag stitched in place to look like water.

I ran a piece of the blue coredinations cardstock thru my sizzix machine and embossed it with a Tim Holtz embossing folder, then sanded it lightly to make the pattern stand out.

Materials used:
Cardstock - coredinations cardstock

I just love his smile...so happy and so free :)

...My Guys...

Here is my next share for the My 2 Angels Design Team...ahhh boys month...I love this photo of my husband and son together. I took this photo on Mothers Day 2007 with my new camera and it is still one of my faves. A little snapshot in time of my 2 favourite guys.

For this layout I used the fantastic new Fancy Pants paper range Like Father Like Son, and the co-ordinating element stickers. The background is the Be Strong paper, and I have layered this with a piece of the reverse side of this paper as well, and a piece of the reverse side of Little Tike. I machine stitched around all the pieces of pattern paper, as well as the background paper to enhance to printed stitch pattern in the papers.

I added layers of stickers from the element stickers, which I mounted onto cardstock, cut around and layered with foam tape.
